The textbook of Std-9 Social Science is divided into three sections in total. In which Chapters-1 to 7 i.e. History Section-8 to 12 are in Civics as well as Chapters 13 to 20 are in Geography section. Thus a total of 20 chapters are placed in Std-9 Social Science textbook.
Unit-1 Twentieth Century-India and the World
The unit, which has a total of 7 chapters, focuses on the study of India’s freedom struggle along with the major developments in the world in the 20th century. 
Unit-2 Making of Modren Nation
This unit discusses the reconstruction of india in post independence era,the drafting of indian constitution its main feature the structure of indian Government fundamental rights and duties and indian democracy.this unit helps to understend the functionning of the largest
democracy of world.
Unit-3 Land and People 
This unit discusses the land of india.nature and people indias rich natural resourese and natural enviroment.this unit helps to understand the veriety and richness of our environment.
