Schools
that have been closed for a long time due to the Corona virus epidemic
are being reopened in a timely manner from October 15. The Ministry of
Education has issued guidelines for this. The ministry has asked all
states and union territories to prepare SOPs to ensure that education
complies with the standards of health, hygiene, safety and social
distance. According to the SOP, there will be no assessment of children
for two-three weeks. Students’ mental health and emotional safety must
also be considered.

An
emergency care team will have to be formed on campus. Children can be
called to schools only with the consent of the parents. The SOP is in
two parts. The first part deals with the health and safety of children
when opening a school. Students will be able to go to school only after
the written approval of the parents as per the guidelines. Attendance
rules have been kept flexible. Students will also be able to choose
online classes instead of going to school. The ministry has said that
instead of paper and pen tests for the assessment of students, a
skill-enhancing process will be adopted. There will be no assessment for
two to three weeks after the school opens. Online learning will also be
promoted as well.
