Board exams will start from May 21.
CORONA EFFECT IN ALL STANDARD SYLLABUS
It has been decided to reduce the number of students in Std. 9 to 12 due to the situation in Corona. The Board of Secondary Education has decided to reduce the syllabus of Std. 9 to 12 by 30% so that the students of Std. 10 and 12 can take the exam stress free. The reduction rule in the curriculum will apply for one year. An important decision has been made to reduce the curriculum due to the situation in Corona.
Schools that have been closed for a long time due to the Corona virus epidemic are being reopened in a timely manner from October 15. The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines for this. The ministry has asked all states and union territories to prepare SOPs to ensure that education complies with the standards of health, hygiene, safety and social distance. According to the SOP, there will be no assessment of children for two-three weeks. Students’ mental health and emotional safety must also be considered.
Students will be able to go to school only after written approval
An emergency care team will have to be formed on campus. Children can be called to schools only with the consent of the parents. The SOP is in two parts. The first part deals with the health and safety of children when opening a school. Students will be able to go to school only after the written approval of the parents as per the guidelines. Attendance rules have been kept flexible. Students will also be able to choose online classes instead of going to school. The ministry has said that instead of paper and pen tests for the assessment of students, a skill-enhancing process will be adopted. There will be no assessment for two to three weeks after the school opens. Online learning will also be promoted as well.
